Abstract

Objective: To determine the influence of metacognition and learning of mathematical competencies of the students in the 2nd Cycle of the Faculty of Administrative and Accounting Sciences, professional career of Administration and Systems of the Los Andes Peruvian University – Semester 2017-I, Lima. Methods: A correlational-causal study was realized, characterized by two observations, one before introducing the independent variable and one after entering it. These observations can be shown through the application of a test or direct observation. A pre and post test was applied to a group of 30 students of the 2nd Cycle of the Faculty of Administrative and Accounting Sciences, professional career of Administration and Systems of the Los Andes Peruvian University – Semester 2017-I, Lima. For the reliability of the instrument, Cronbach´s Alpha statistical method was used, which corresponds to a polythomic test. Results: To estimate the reliability of the pre-test with the post-test, the reliability analysis was performed, obtaining a Cronbach's alpha coefficient of 0.833, which means that it is a Good internal consistency. Conclusions: Metacognitive strategies have a strong influence in the learning of the four mathematical competences.
