Abstract

Objective: Carried out and evaluated the effects of nutritional intervention in students with thinness, overweight and obesity at the UNJFSC against COVID-19 in 2021. Huacho. Materials and Method: An applied type and level investigation was carried out, a quasi- experimental design, a quantitative approach, the experimental group made up of 32 students with thinness, overweight and obesity. Results: After 4 months of constant and permanent virtual monitoring, a healthy diet was prescribed according to each pathophysiology, healthy lifestyle recommendations and individualized nutritional therapy were provided (omega-3 fatty acid supplements, protein modules , formula with modified carbohydrates) in addition, coordination and consultation with other specialists were carried out: Endocrinology, General Medicine, Dermatology and Psychology who gave specialized treatment and prescribed drugs (hypoglycemic, lipid-lowering and vitamins among others), as adjuvants to nutritional treatment. It was obtained from 4 students with thinness, one recovered (25%), and in the process of recovery (75%), of the 22 students who had a diagnosis of overweight according to BMI, 14 students (64%) recovered and in the process of recovery 8 (34%), and of the 6 obesity students (100%), are in the process of recovery, improving their BMI with a moderate and sustained weight loss; Conclusions: With the nutritional intervention, a significant improvement was obtained in the students who were diagnosed with thinness, overweight and obesity; preventing nutritional deterioration and its comorbidities, as important factors for strengthening the immune system of university students against covid-19 in 2021. In the BMI Sig = 0.000 <0.05, then the data show that there are significant differences in the intervention performed.
